Dave Suarez Photography
I spent fifteen years as a photojournalist for several newspapers in New York before moving to Chicago in 1995. Upon arriving I was hired at the Leo Burnett advertising agency where I worked with the print division. At the same time, I was hired to work as chief photographer for WXRT which lasted eleven great years. Since 2006, I have been photographing weddings full time, traveling a lot, teaching workshops and working passionately to be among the best wedding photographers.
I never dreamed for a second that I would be enjoying wedding photography as much as I do now. I believe that my career as a photojournalist has provided me with an extremely unique insight and perspective on how to photograph the most important day in the life of a couple in love.
I would love the opportunity to meet with you in person to hear about your event and discuss how I might best preserve it for you in photographs.
Please enjoy this site. I hope you click on my blog to view some of my more recent work. It is a great way to grasp the level of consistency in my work.
I also do corporate events, bar mitzvahs, bat mitzvahs, business portraits, actor headshots, company, portraits, color and black and white. Weddings can be done in traditional or photojournalistic style.
Of course I always love to do destination weddings, but here are some of my favorite Chicago wedding venues: Glessner House Museum, School of the Art Institute Ballroom, House of Blues, The Shedd Aquarium, The Fountain Blue, Germania Place, Salvage One, A New Leaf, The Modern Wing of the Chicago Art Institute, Prairie Production, The Waldorf Astoria Chicago, The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, The Signature Room, Architectural Artifacts, the Chicago Cultural Center, the South Shore Cultural Center, The Mid America Club, The Metropolitan Club, Promontory Point, the Allegro Hotel, Chicago Botanic Gardens, Cafe Brauer, the Harold Washington Library, the Art Institute of Chicago, Navy Pier, Crystal Gardens, the W Hotel City Center, the James Hotel, the Hyatt Lodge, the Drake Hotel, the Renaissance Hotel, Hotel Sax, the Intercontinental Hotel, the Knickerbocker Hotel, the Adler Planetarium, the MCA Chicago.
